This was Sue's idea--thinking of Rachel--and a fine idea it was. Off the main tourist track, but well-worth seeing. Lots more great photos by someone else here.
Very pretty on the inside, but I have to admit that from the outside it looks a lot like a coffee can in a cardboard box. If I saw it built here today I'd assume that as usual the funding had fallen short of such fripperies as a dome. Gunnar Asplund...
Very pretty on the inside, but I have to admit that from the outside it looks a lot like a coffee can in a cardboard box. If I saw it built here today I'd assume that as usual the funding had fallen short of such fripperies as a dome. Gunnar Asplund was a modern guy though, and I'm sure he despised domes and that his work looks better in real life, in it's design setting, than in a photo.
