50's food

Betsy said she was having all her favorites for her 30th birthday and that it appeared that her favorites were all 50's food. Hence the nibbles on toothpicks, the pigs in the blanket, and the deviled eggs. But her 50's are broader than I remember them from Marquette. I know for a fact that I didn't see my first bagel until 1966--and lox came quite a while after that (though my 50's did include smoked chubs!). Also, while someone was surely eating baked goat cheese and chicken satay (neither pictured here, both delicious) in the 50's, it wasn't anyone I knew.
