Kate cleaned up when she wasn't cutting up root vegetables, setting the table, figuring out what we were going to serve in what bowl, or making the famous Shanks cranberry sauce. I decided she's the perfect relative--close enough for me to feel perfectly comfortable ordering me around but not so close that she feels comfortable resisting my demands.
